Summer Game Fest Sunrise # 1: Tony Hawk Pro Skater 1+2 Remaster
Geoff Keighly’s Summer Game Fest is branded as an “industry-wide celebration of gaming.” From May through August publishers and developers will hold digital conferences and reveals of upcoming titles. The stretched out format is a stark contrast to gaming’s former summer spectacle, E3. In early June the entire world would train it’s focus on Los Angeles, where platform holders and major publishers would hold extravagant conferences trying to one-up each other with attention grabbing announcements. Over the course of the next few days hundreds of games would receive updates or first time reveals. By the time it was all over you were lucky to remember 10% of what happened. With E3 2020 canceled, the industry is trying a new approach. What was a 4 day event will now take place over 4 months, allowing everyone a chance to take in news and a breath before turning their attention to the Next Big Thing, at least in theory. Summer Game Fest kicked off last week with Xbox 20/20 and is getting into full swing with a game reveal today and an in depth showcase planned for tomorrow.
Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1+2
A blast from the past from the earliest days of Playstation and Xbox, the beloved Tony Hawk Pro Skater series will return with a remaster of the first and second games this summer. Series veterans Vicarious Visions were tapped by Activision to handle the release on PS4, Xbox One and PC. Fans have been asking for years to have the skateboarding legend come to modern consoles and will finally get their wish on September 4th. Check out the trailer below for a first look at the upcoming release.
