Ravens Free Agency Tracker

Baltimore made a couple big splashes this offseason trading for Campbell and moving on from 1st round mistake Hayden Hurst. Since then they’ve mostly focused on retaining their own free agents, we’ll keep you up to date with the Ravens transactions below.

Additions

Calais Campbell DE- The former Jaguars and Cardinals DE represents a huge upgrade for Baltimore’s interior line. Although Campbell is older (33) he’s still playing at an elite level. He has 31.5 sacks over the last three years and will provide a boost to one of the worst pass rush groups in the league. Campbell will also provide help in the run game. Baltimore’s run defense wasn’t exactly bad last year but they were uneven, giving up over 100 yards 9 times in their 17 games and over 140 5 times. Campbell is also as reliable as can be having only missed 6 games in his 12 year career. GM Eric DeCosta deserves credit for bringing in a player like Campbell for just a 5th round pick.

Michael Brockers DT- UPDATE: Michael Brockers and the Ravens were unable to come to terms due to concern over a previous ankle injury. Brockers has returned to the LA Rams on a 3 year deal. Brockers deal is not yet official, pending a physical, but he would be another great get for the Ravens. While not on the same level as Campbell, Brockers is another upgrade for the defensive front. Baltimore shouldn’t expect big sack numbers but they’ll get more pressure than they got from Chris Wormley. More importantly, adding Brockers to a front with Campbell and Brandon Williams builds a three man wall that will prove formidable to any opposing run game.

Nick Moore LS- UDFA out of Georgia, Moore spent time with the Saints last summer before being released in August and later joining the Tampa Bay Vipers of the XFL.

Derek Wolfe DL- The Ravens have found their replacement for Michael Brockers. They signed the 8 year vet to a one year deal worth $3 million with incentives worth up to an additional $3 million. Wolfe is a good run defender who will provide a moderate boost to the pass rush as well. Over 30 with injury concerns, expect Baltimore to still add a defensive linemen early in next month’s draft.

Jake Ryan LB- The Ravens added the former Jaguars and Packers linebacker to help fill out their admittedly thin iLB group. Ryan had been a good run defender prior to tearing his ACL in 2018 and missing all but two games with Jacksonville in 2019. This is a low risk /moderate reward signing that shouldn't affect next week's draft plans. If Ryan can get and stay healthy, he'll be a solid contributor to a stellar defense in 2020.

D.J. Fluker OL- Fluker was just released by the Seahawks after two middling seasons where he missed 8 games, a career long trend for the guard. Still just 29, a healthy Fluker will factor into the offseason battles on Baltimore’s interior line.
