Week 10 Picks and Preview

Carolina VS Tampa Bay

Carolina is coming off a heartbreaking loss to the Chiefs in week 9, a familiar feeling for this year's group. They'll be playing a Tampa team eager to get back on the right track after an embarrassing blowout loss to the Saints. As always for the Panthers, this game will come down to protection and limiting mistakes from the offense. Dennis Daley will be starting at LT for injured Russell Okung and the Panthers will be without star Christian McCaffrey after he hurt his shoulder late in last week's game. Tampa has one of the best defenses in the league and it's likely going to be a struggle putting up points.

On the defensive side, promising rookie Yetur Gross-Matos gets the first start of his career. Gross-Matos has been very productive as a pass rusher in his limited snaps and this is hopefully the beginning of a years long partnership with fellow Edge Brian Burns in terrorizing opposing QBs. Jeremy Chinn is back after missing last week and should provide a boost to a secondary in desperate need of reinforcement. Tom Brady turned the ball over multiple times last week and Carolina’s best shot of showing down the Bucs offense may be jumping routes to try and force some turnovers.

What to Watch

DJ Moore has seen only 14 total targets over the last 3 weeks, and while he typically makes the most of his chances, the Panthers would be wise to move him to the slot and get him more opportunities in the open field. Moore is a dangerous runner and could make the Panthers offense nearly unstoppable with a bump in volume.

Baltimore AT New England

The Ravens are 6-2 and well positioned to make a late season run at the division title. They boast one of the top defenses in the league but their struggles on offense threaten to derail their championship hopes. Ronnie Stanley is out for the season and starting guard Tyre Phillips is currently on IR. The line wasn't exactly impenetrable before the injuries and the Ravens don't have talent on the outside to make up for their deficiencies up front. They will however have Mark Ingram back in the lineup and should look to control the game on the ground.

New England has been an absolute mess on offense. Zero talent at wide receiver and an underwhelming group of RBs have put a ton of pressure on Cam Newton to carry the team and recently he's not been up to the task. Tonight should be no different as the Ravens are just too good on defense for the Patriots to present any real threat.

What to Watch

Baltimore’s front seven will be instrumental in securing a win tonight. This figures top be a fairly low scoring affair and the Ravens need to get a few stops early to give their offense a chance to build a lead. The way to stop New England is controlling the line of scrimmage and playing disciplined run defense, both things Baltimore is more than capable of doing.
